How to play Tread Cup

Race 3 computer rivals in a 4-track cup. Brake and slide through the corners, and grab turbo, oil and bouncing balls from item boxes. Upgrade your kart in the garage between races, break lap records and lift the cup.

A 4-race cup against 3 computer rivals, each race run over 3 laps. Points go out by finish order: 10, 6, 3 and 1; stay on top after the cup and you’re the champion.

Step by step

  1. For a rocket start, press the up arrow or Space, or tap the screen, as the countdown lights go out. Press too early and the engine stalls, delaying your launch.
  2. Steer with the left/right arrows, or hold your finger on the track; brake into a slide with the down arrow.
  3. Boxes on the track drop turbo, oil or a bouncing ball. Use it with Space or by tapping the ITEM box: oil spills behind you, and the bouncing ball goes for the rival ahead.
  4. Between races, pick 1 upgrade from 3 cards in the garage: engine, tires, bumper or a mystery box.

Tips

  • Your car’s speed drops by almost half off the track; stay on the asphalt instead of looking for a shortcut.
  • A car that hits oil or a bouncing ball spins out for a short time; every rival you send spinning with a bouncing ball is worth 50 points.
  • Your lap record is saved on every track; beat your old record for extra points.
