How to play Mosaic Courtyard

Place the 3 pieces from the tray onto the 8×8 courtyard and clear rows and columns by completing them. Across 8 courtyards, collect navy stones, stop the ivy from spreading and break stones that take 2 hits. Streaks earn rotations and hammer uses; the pattern changes every day.

Mosaic Courtyard is a journey through 8 courtyards on an 8×8 board. Each courtyard has a different goal: reach a score, clear a set number of lines, collect navy stones or clear away the ivy.

Step by step

  1. Drag one of the 3 pieces in the tray onto the courtyard, or tap to select it and tap to place it; on a keyboard, move the cursor with the arrow keys. Once all 3 are placed, the tray refills.
  2. Every full row and column is cleared. Clearing lines back to back grows the multiplier up to ×4; go 3 placements without clearing and the streak resets.
  3. A navy stone is collected when its row or column is cleared. A 2-hit stone cracks on the first clear and comes off on the second. Ivy spreads 1 square every 4 placements and is cleared with a line.
  4. Rotate turns the selected piece a quarter turn, and Hammer breaks a single filled square. If no piece fits and you have no hammers left, the game ends; clear all 8 courtyards to win.

Tips

  • Blocker stones, ivy and navy stones also fill squares; complete a line by closing the gaps around them.
  • Clearing at least 2 lines at once earns a hammer, and every 3rd step of a streak earns a rotation.
