How to play Ridge Gunner

Factor in angle, power and wind to hit the markers on the horizon. The preview only shows the shot leaving the barrel; the wind is yours to judge. Every shot is timed, and the wind picks up every 5 targets.

An artillery game where you hit markers on the horizon while accounting for the wind. In the first level you hit 5 markers. In each new level, the wind gets stronger, the markers get smaller and the time per shot gets shorter. Your gunner has 3 lives.

Step by step

  1. Press on the play area and pull back like a slingshot: the direction of the pull sets the angle, and its length sets the power. Release to fire.
  2. On a keyboard, left/right changes the angle, up/down changes the power and Space fires.
  3. The preview only shows a short arc leaving the barrel. The wind’s direction and strength appear at the bottom; judging the drift is up to you.
  4. Every shot is timed; if time runs out, the shot counts as a miss. Every 2 misses cost a life.

Tips

  • If the wind points right, the shell flies farther, so use less power. If it blows left, add power.
  • Hitting a marker on the first shot earns extra points. Hits close to the center and hits in strong wind also raise your score.
  • After a miss, watch where the shell landed and correct the angle or power in small steps on your next shot.
