Junction Master

In Junction Master, you run the lights where 2 roads cross. Over 3 rounds you need to get 20, then 30, then 40 cars through in turn; if either queue reaches 9 cars, the junction locks up and the game ends.

Step by step

1. The green light is on for only 1 road at a time. Pick which road flows by tapping the road itself or one of the 2 buttons at the bottom.
2. On the keyboard, any arrow key switches between the 2 buttons, and Space gives the selected road a green light.
3. Every light change comes with a safety gap of about half a second; both roads stay red and no car moves through it.
4. During the midday wave and the evening peak, traffic piles up on one road in waves. The Busy label at the top shows which road is getting crowded.

Tips

• Don’t switch the light more often than you need to; every change wastes the time spent in the safety gap.
• Once a lane starts flashing red, its queue has reached 7 cars; open that road right away.
• When the busy direction changes, don’t forget the queue building on the other road; keep both queues in balance.
