Spot Kick Cup

A 10-match penalty tournament: in each match you take turns shooting, then guarding the goal. If it’s still tied after 5 kicks each, it goes to sudden death. There’s also a Daily rival match that refreshes every day.

Step by step

1. Click or tap the goal to lock your aim; the arrows on the keyboard nudge it.
2. The accuracy meter keeps swinging. Press SHOOT or Space while it’s centered and the ball goes where you aimed; the further from center, the bigger the miss.
3. You get 8 seconds per shot. Let time run out and the shot goes wide on its own.
4. In goal, your rival’s run-up angle gives away their direction. Dive to a zone of the goal with the arrows, the mouse or a tap; in later rounds, rivals bluff.

Tips

• Shots very close to the post and crossbar can’t be saved, but a little too close sends them wide.
• Rival keepers remember where you’ve hit before; don’t always pick the same corner.
• For 3 stars, win the match by at least 2 goals without going to sudden death.
